Here’s a video some of you may already be aware off. I came across the link at a forum and when I watched it I was witness to one of the most shameful displays of dojo violence I have ever seen.
Just to put things into context, the footage was taken almost twenty-five years ago but it has recently come to light again due to the fact that the mainstream media picked up on the story. In fact, after you watch the video, you can also watch the news report about it afterwards.
Jesus Taught Me
The story behind it is this. A Kung Fu guy visits the dojo in the video with the intent of demonstrating his skills to the Sensei there. The visitor, a “10th Dan” and apparently awarded his rank by Jesus, attempted to teach some kind of weird chi-based technique. The Sensie can be heard in the video sarcastically saying what an “honour” it is to learn from someone so skilled who had visited their dojo. The Sensei then puts one of his black belt students on the guy like a Rottweiller.
What follows is footage of the Kung Fu guy (who was apparently mentally retarded, according to the news report) being brutally beaten up by the black belt. He can be heard trying to give up but the beating continues until he is dragged unconscious out of the dojo and dumped into the street, where the beating apparently continued.
Now at first I thought this was some kind of set up because the technique of the black belt sucks for someone of that rank and I also couldn’t understand why no one was stepping in to stop it. But when the black belt begins to stomp on the guys head and the blood can be clearly seen, I knew it was real.
I have never seen such a callous and brutal display of ego-driven violence. The Sensei involved should be stripped of his rank and the black belt who did the beating should be jailed. Likewise, the watching students should hang their heads in shame for not stepping in.
