The purpose of this site is to provide quality, informative information on the martial arts. In it you will find helpful training tips and advice, articles on self-defense, martial arts culture and technique as well as my own thoughts and opinions on the subject, all of it based on my twenty-five years of experience within the martial arts.
The articles are written with dedicated martial artists in mind, those who see themselves as constantly learning and evolving, whose sole aim is to become better martial artists through hard work, constant practice and study.
What style you do is irrelevant here. The things I write about can be used by anyone as I work from a broad perspective.
It also doesn’t matter how much experience you have. Beginners and novices will find plenty here to help them learn and improve, while more experienced martial artists will also find plenty of interest.
The information you will read is gathered from hard-won experience and constant study on my part. That means that any training tips and advice I give will be of sound practical value. You can read them and take out whatever you find useful and then implement it into your own training.
I will offer solid, no-nonsense advice on personal protection (based on things I learned as a bouncer), I will teach you how to improve your technique, how to hone the skills you already have and how to introduce new ideas and concepts into your existing training regime.
I will also offer tips on how to train your mind and not just your body to make you a well rounded martial artist.
In short, I want to help you improve and develop as a martial artist and a person as I think the two go hand in hand.
The same applies to me. I set this site up so I could learn from other martial artists as well. I want to hear your views and opinions as well. We’re all in this together at the end of the day, training within the same giant dojo that stretches across the world.
So stick around, interact, learn something new and have some fun while you’re doing it!
